World Scout Jamboree

The 2015 World Scout Jamboree is now accepting applications via its website, The 23rd World Scout Jamboree will be held Tuesday, July 28 through Saturday, August 8, 2015 in Kirara-hama, Japan.Join over 30,000 Scouts and leaders from 161 countries. Itis unlike any Scouting activity you have ever experienced.

Camp Caretaker Applications Being Accepted

Applications are now being accepted for the Caretaker position at Camp Patten.  Plans call for this position to be in place in early 2015 as the residence project is completed.  Click HERE for an application.  Applications need to be submitted to Matt Hart at the Valdosta Service Center.


Our Adult Volunteers deserve to be recognized for their efforts just like our Scouts!  Nominations are now being accepted for the Silver Beaver Award, the highest award presented to a Volunteer at the Council Level.  Nominations must be in no later than Dec. 31, 2014 to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .   This award will be presented at the Council Annual Banquet, January 31, 2015.

The District Award of Merit, the highest award presented to a Volunteer at the District Level, will be presented at each District Banquet in March.  Nominations for District Award of Merit need to be submitted no later than February 15, 2015 to your District Executive.

On Saturday, January 10, Scouters and Scouts will gather at Tifton First United Methodist Church for an incredible day of fun, fellowship and supplemental training known as University of Scouting.  There are classes available for Cub Scout volunteers, Boy Scout volunteers, District level volunteers, as well as Boy Scouts.  EVERYONE is encouraged to come out and take some great classes to re-energize your Scouting spirit and make your program more exciting and FUN for your Scouts.The Course Catalogue is available HERE!

Boy Scout/Order of the Arrow Membership Survey
The Order of the Arrow (OA) is Scouting’s national honor society. Members of the OA are drawn from local units, and one of the organizations main charges is to support local Scouting. 

To learn about how to better serve your unit, our lodge is conducting a survey of all unit leaders in the council. The survey is entirely anonymous, and contains questions about how the OA serves your unit, and what we can be doing better. Completing the entire survey should take approximately five minutes.

Your feedback is valuable whether or not your unit participates in the OA program.

Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and give us your feedback. The lodge will use this information to improve how it serves your unit. The results are also shared with a national membership task force, which will use the results to develop new resources for both lodges and units.
