NESA Committee Formed

The South Georgia Council NESA is a fellowship of men who have achieved the Eagle Scout rank and desire to assist with the national objective for the Association which is to serve Eagle Scouts and, through them, the entire movement of Scouting. The South Georgia Council NESA offers Eagle Scouts the opportunity to give back to Scouting through service to their fellow Scouts – guiding Eagle Scouts of all ages into service within the Council and shaping Scouting for the future. New Cub Scouting Program

NYLT 2015

National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is an exciting program designed to provide youth members of the BSA with leadership skills they can use in their home troops.  It centers around what a leader must BE, what they must KNOW, and what they must DO.  The course will be held May 31-June 6 at Camp Osborn.  For more information on NYLT, please follow this LINK. Chehaw Annual Golf Tournament will be hosted at Double Gate Country Club, 3800 Old Dawson Road, Albany, on May 4, 2015. Boy Scout Adventure Weekend at Wild Adventures

For many years, Wild Adventures has provided a special weekend for the BSA!  The weekend will be April 24-26 and includes camping, admission to the park on Saturday and Sunday.  It includes lunch on Saturday as well as bottomless soda wristband for Saturday.  For additional information and a sign up form, please click HERE.  For a flyer than be used to promote the event in your unit, please click HERE.

Cub Race Day!
On Saturday, April 18, Cub Scouts will have a great day of racing at Camp Patten!  Cubmobile, Pinewood Derby, Raingutter Regatta and the Obstacle course will test our Scouts’ skills in a round-robin of racing!  The leader’s guide for this event is HERE!  Don’t miss the fun.

It is not a requirement for members of a pack to participate in all four of the activities.  More information is in the leader’s guide.

Cub Scout Day Camp – SUPER HEROS TRAINING CAMP!
Your day camp directors are already planning a fun and exciting day camp for your Cub Scouts!  Don’t let them miss this great piece of the Cub Scout Program.

2017 National Scout Jamboree

It is hard to imagine, but planning is already underway for the 2017 National Boy Scout Jamboree.  One of our first steps is to secure adults that are interested in serving as troop leaders. Anyone interested in being considered for leadership, please submit the interest form found HERE.  Interest forms are due by 5:00 on May 15th.

Pheasant Tower Shoot

Calling all pheasant hunters!  The SGC will conduct a tower shoot on April 11th at the Ford Farm in Laneir County.  There will be a morning and afternoon shoot and we have a maximum of 20 hunters in each group.  We have some great door prizes to give away as well.  For more information and the registration form, please click Here!
