NYLT 2017

National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is an exciting, action action-packed program designed to provide youth members of the Boy Scouts of America with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home troops and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others.  Follow THIS LINK for additional information.
Council Executive Board Passes Resolution on Youth Protection Training
The South Georgia Council, Boy Scouts of America Executive Board passed THIS RESOLUTION at the Annual Business Meeting held on February 23, 2016. Please take note and appropriate measures this calendar year to prevent your unit and any adults being impacted. This can have a major impact on your unit being able to be rechartered for 2017.

2017 National Scout Jamboree-Slots Open

Our leadership is in place and plans are progressing on this trip of a lifetime.  Visit for more information and your first step is to submit this this local form to hold your spot on our stand by list.  We just had an opening in our Jamboree Troop on December 4th.

Redden Hart Summer Camp Scholarships  

As first announced at the Boy Scout Camporee, thanks to the generous support of the Honeypot Foundation, a limited number of summer camp scholarships will be made available for Boy Scouts to attend summer camp in 2017.  Named in memory of long time Scoutmaster Redden Hart, these funds are intended to enable scouts that may not have the opportunity to attend summer camp to experience the adventure.  The first step in the process is to submit THE APPLICATION before March 31st.

Silver Beaver and District Award of Merit Nominations

All Districts and the South GA Council alike is seeking nominations for those individuals that should be considered for recognition for outstanding service to youth.  The District Award of Merit honors those that have served Scouting at the District level and the Silver Beaver Award honors those service at the Council level.  Please consider nominating those Scouters you feel are deserving of such an honor by year end.
