Alapaha Quarterly Program Update
Boy Scout Leaders,
As mentioned in our last QPU meeting, in order have more effective leader meetings that do not run overtime, we have decided to separate the Cub Scout QPU and Boy Scout QPU.
We will have our first meeting for “Boy Scout leaders only” on Thursday September 20, 6:30pm at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 3501 Bemiss Rd, Valdosta, GA 31605. Recharter Packets will be available at this meeting or during the regularly scheduled QPU on October 25th.
We will note serve a meal at this QPU/Roundtable but we will have light snacks and refreshments at no charge. These new meetings are intended to be a fun laid back opportunity for fellowship with other Scout leaders, a chance to discuss our success stories, share ideas and experiences and receive important program updates and information.
SEE BELOW for the meeting agenda and a letter from our new Boy Scout QPU/ Roundtable Commissioner.
Greetings Scouters and volunteers,
My name is James Karmann, and I am the new District Roundtable Commissioner. I am excited for the opportunity to coordinate QPU/Roundtable gatherings for the Alapaha district.
I wanted to invite all Boy Scout leaders to the Quarterly Program Update/Roundtable on Thursday, 20 September at 6:30. We will be meeting at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Valdosta to discuss the following agenda:
- Guest Speaker: Mr. Ed Walker will be discussing Eagle Boards, Eagle applications and Eagle Scout Project requirements.
- Logging service hours: Please come with your service hours so that we can walk everyone through how to log them in the appropriate site.
- Internet re-charter: Everyone’s re-charter packets will be available for pickup; and we will discuss the procedures and tips for the re-charter process.
- Merit Badge Counselors: The proper process for selecting, approving, utilizing and training merit badge counselors will be discussed.
All troops leaders are invited to the QPU, and we hope that at least one leader from each troop will attend. Looking forward to seeing you there!
Yours in Scouting,
District Roundtable Commissioner
