2026 South Georgia Council Fishing Derby

Get ready to cast your line and test your fishing skills at the 2026 Fishing Derby at Camp Osborn!

Camp Osborn, Sylvester, GA
9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Optional overnight camping available

This exciting event is open to Arrow of LIght, Scouts BSA, Venturers, Explorers, and Sea Scouts. Participants will enjoy a day filled with hands-on fishing and outdoor skills stations, friendly competition, and time on the water. Scouts will learn about tackle, knot tying, conservation, stewardship, casting, and fishing safety before heading to the lake to compete in the Fishing Derby.

Awards Include:

• Minnow Award – Shortest Fish
• Whale Award – Longest Fish
• School Award – Most Fish Caught

Registration Fee: $10 per Scout
Adults attend free but must register.

The lake is stocked with bass, catfish, and crappie. Fishing is catch-and-release, and equipment will be available for those who need it.
