Wood Badge is open to all registered adult leaders who have completed the basic training for their primary position. 

All Wood Badge courses in the South Georgia Council consist of two three-day weekends scheduled 3 weeks apart. Both weekends start promptly at 7:30 am on Friday and last until late Sunday afternoon. Participants are required to attend all six days.

Wood Badge is considered the premier leadership training course available to registered leaders of all levels of the Scouting program – Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Varsity and Venturing. It concentrates on providing training on modern leadership skills needed in today’s world for Scout leaders. Wood Badge Training will not only make you a better Scout Leader, it will also assist you in improving your personal and professional life as well.

When and Where is Wood Badge?

Wood Badge is a 2-weekend course.  Weekend #1 will be held on February 22-24,2019 at Camp Patten in Lakeland.  Weekend #2 will be held on March 22-24, 2019 at Camp Osborn near Sylvester.

Course Cost

The course fee for the 2019 course is $180. This fee covers all instructional materials, program supplies and all food for both weekends.  Each participant will receive a course shirt, cap and neckerchief.  This fee also includes the Wood Badge training award that is presented following completion of the application phase of the course.  A deposit of $50 is due with the application and the balance is due no later than 30 days prior to the start of the course. Installments toward the $180 fee are acceptable.
